Why This Fund Exists
The Purple Rose Initiative began with a deeply personal story. Like many families, ours met the realities of genetic disease through our daughter, Bella. Her journey teaches us what it means to navigate uncertainty, fight for answers, and hold onto hope.
Bella’s story isn’t the only one. It represents thousands of individuals living with genetic and chronic conditions that are too often unseen, underfunded, and misunderstood.

Cystic fibrosis research has done something rare: it has produced breakthroughs that reach far beyond CF itself, advancing treatment and understanding across a wide range of genetic and chronic conditions. We believe that same model — one disease, driving progress for many — can keep accelerating, if it’s funded.

Research & Discovery — Supporting research and scientific collaboration rooted in cystic fibrosis while helping advance discoveries with relevance to bronchiectasis, genetics, chronic infection, inflammation, respiratory health, aging, emerging therapies, and other chronic and genetic conditions.
Research Translation & Education — Turning complex science into accessible, evidence-informed education so patients, families, supporters, and communities can better understand the discoveries shaping the future of care.
Connection & Collaboration — Building the bridge between researchers, clinicians, healthcare organizations, industry, patients, families, advocates, and communities—creating opportunities for knowledge and ideas to move beyond traditional boundaries.
Patients & Families — Creating resources, educational initiatives, and meaningful connections that help families better understand complex diagnoses, emerging research, and the evolving landscape of care.
Advocacy & Awareness — Elevating patient and family perspectives, increasing public understanding, and bringing attention to research questions and unmet needs that deserve greater visibility.
